About TaconicArtemis
The TaconicArtemis provides a wide range of genetically modified mouse models, using a variety of advanced technologies. Our combination of industry leading technology in mouse genetics and unrivaled expertise in breeding and worldwide distribution allows us to significantly reduce "design to delivery" timeframes - enabling researchers to conserve resources and complete critical projects significantly faster. The resources and expertise of TaconicArtemis allow us to provide each client with the best possible service packages for your research needs, including customized generation, breeding and testing programs that ensure the quality and availability of animals originating from your model.
TaconicArtemis was formed through Taconic's acquisition of an 80 percent stake in Artemis Pharmaceuticals, creating a new entity, TaconicArtemis GmbH. Founded in 1998 in Cologne, Germany, Artemis developed the ArteMice® platform, a combination of rapid and sophisticated targeting vector generation, efficient and expert targeting in ES cell, novel blastocyst injection techniques and patented CreER gene switching technology. The ArteMice® platform makes sophisticated, genetically modified mice for target validation, ADME/T and basic research available faster than ever.
Taconic was founded in 1952 as a family-owned business in New York's Hudson River Valley. Since then, the company has grown to become one of the largest and most respected laboratory rodent providers in the world. With six breeding facilities and three service laboratories in the U.S. and Europe, a staff of over 800, and a commitment to technological innovation, Taconic is increasingly the partner of choice for biomedical researchers conducting in vivo studies. Taconic is dedicated to developing and delivering animal models and related laboratory services for the biomedical research community, working closely with researchers to assure the integrity of their studies.
